MDes: Research Talk Steve Gill

‘How to design so it doesn’t kill people?’ – difficult interface of the product.

*Steve gave us a talk and introduction into all of the researches around CSAD and what kind of work they do*

One of the questions asked by an audience to Steve Gill  :

“What is the difference between and artist and designer?”

According to Steve Gill :

‘Designers : Look for things that have a problem and try and solve them. Artists : Look for things that interest them and continues to research them.’

Interesting ideas but I personally both are very similar, why can’t designer be branded as researching something that interests them rather than finding a problem?

Try and find something that interests you and explore it, engage in it. – Research isn’t as scary as it seems.
